Hi everybody!
Well, umm, it's been a while since the last journal ... and, yes, currently nothing happens here;
But I want you to know that this group isn't dead! o:
I'm going to change this situation as long as I’ve got vacations, okay? (;
After babbling around I start with the real theme of this journal ... it's Takaya-sans first manga:
Phantom Dream!
Phantom Dream was released in 1994 so it's already 19 years old! Isn't that incredible? It's older than me! (x
Well, I really hope you've read it, it's great for her first work. Unfortunately it isn't very famous here (in Germany), because it wasn't even translated into German D:
I wonder why... it's a nice and historical story; and the characters often wear awesome kimonos! (I really love kimonos *___* )
It's just surprisingly violent compared with her current works, but she doesn't overdo. (;
You slowly fall in love with the characters even with the villains... I'm not sure which chara is my favorite it's soo hard. They're all great in their own way (well okay except Saga; he's really mean -.- ) I guess I would choose Tamaki if I have to choose one of them, because he's brave, strong, has a big heart and (yes, I have to mention that too) he's hot! ;3 Oh, well he's unbelievable faithful too: He loved Asahi from the beginning to the end even as she joined the opposing side.
So, at the end I just want to say something about the artwork. Takaya-san used to draw with traditional tools instead of using the PC. It looks really different (and maybe a bit strange) compared to Fruits Basket, etc. especially at the beginning but she got better fast. Particularly in the last volume some pictures are really breathtaking (no, I am not exaggerating; it's really great!)
Just like I've already said, I hope that some of you have already read this series, because I'm really interested in your opinions.
What do you think about it? Was it a good start for her career? And who's your favorite character?
And in the end: Sorry for grammar mistakes (I'm still German D: ) and sorry for spoiler. /;
Have a nice day!
